Auto-Save in Workflow Builder
We’ve heard your frustrations and suggestions, and added an Auto Save feature to the Workflow Builder. Your edits are continuously saved in the background as you work on your drafted workflows, helping you stay focused on the logic rather than having to remember to hit Save every few steps.
⭐️ How Does Auto-Save in Workflow Builder Work?
Auto Save continuously writes canvas edits to your draft; nothing goes live until you Publish.

When viewing your Version History, auto-saved changes will have a tag that highlights this.

When you publish a workflow, changes must be manually saved to avoid disrupting the contact’s experience.

To disable this feature, head to the Automation section in your account settings and toggle the Auto Save option on or off as needed.

⭐️Does This Feature Have Any Limitations?
Draft-Only: Auto Save works only when the workflow is in Draft. It is disabled for published workflows, which require manual saving to push changes live.
Configuration Changes: It does not automatically save configuration changes made inside an action or trigger. The save will be created once the action or trigger is fully set.
Multi-Editor & Multi-Tab: If multiple users or tabs edit the same workflow, only the most recent auto-save creates a new version and becomes the current draft. Version History shows who saved and when.
This inclusion was built to eliminate lost work and speed up iteration so you can focus on workflow logic, not saving your changes with each step. We hope this tool, along with the undo, redo, and version history, improves your workflow builder experience and helps you enjoy it!
