Redeeming Gift Cards for Offline Payments
Previously, Gift Cards could only be redeemed by customers on customer-facing checkouts. To help you provide a consistent experience and improve Gift Card removal, we’ve added redemption support for any business collected payments. Let’s learn how to do it!
⭐️ How To Use Gift Cards in Payment Collection?
Head to the Payments section you prefer. For this tutorial, we’ll be going to the one in Contacts and clicking Charge Now.
Toggle Redeem Gift Card on.
Enter the gift card code, then click Apply.
Click Confirm & Charge.
⭐️Why Is This Feature Beneficial To Your Company?
Gift Card Redemption Support: Businesses can simply enter a Gift Card code, validate it, and redeem the available balance as part of the payment process in Orders, Invoices, Subscriptions, and direct charges.
Consistent Redemption Experience: Gift Card redemption works the same way as at customer-facing checkouts, helping you confidently accept Gift Cards regardless of who initiates the payment.
Improved Payment Visibility: Whenever a Gift Card is redeemed, the transaction details clearly show the amount redeemed using the Gift Card, and the associated Gift Card Order is automatically updated with the remaining balance after successful redemption.
Whether you're recording a payment, charging a customer directly, or creating a subscription, you can now use the customer's available Gift Card balance before charging any remaining amount to their saved payment method. We hope you enjoy it!
